Tolpuddle Radical Film Festival (UK) Music, theatre and dance have been well represented at the festival since 1997 and the possibility of incorporating radical film into the festival has been on the agenda for many years. In 2014 the formation of The Radical Film Network;jsessionid=07CE1CC4DA19446F001A6EA536CFDFFB and Public Domain Productions coincided with the restoration of the Vintage Mobile Cinema and collaboration with GorillaCinema to make the ambition for film at Tolpuddle into a reality. Ballad goes to Cambridge

6.45pm Arrival and refreshments 7.00pm Screening of Ballad For Syria 8.00pm Discussion and Q&A with Maisa Alhafez and Eda Elif Tibet Following the screening, Dunya Habash will discuss with Maisa Alhafez and Eda Elif Tibet the making of the film and the role of music in fostering a sense of cultural identity in diaspora. This screening is part of the Living in Harmony research project at the Woolf Institute, which is exploring diasporic Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities from Syria and Iraq through music and memory, both individual and collective, and encounter.

The Society for Visual Anthropology’s Film & Media Festival screens work by students, professional anthropologists, and professional filmmakers at the American Anthropological Association’s annual conference.
